“The Firebird,” is the flagship wine of Eagles’ Landing. Each year, barrels of Chambourcin and Norton are assessed for their potential to fit into this unique blend. After assemblage in the spring following harvest, the wine is further aged for up to 22 months in roughly 20% new French Oak to allow the wine to mature and come together.
The 2022 vintage of The Firebird is a blend from two vineyards: the Beckmeyer Vineyard and Westphalia Vineyard. Orion Beckmeyer already had decades of understanding farming his Hartsburg estate but began cultivating grapevines under the tutelage of Terry Neuner of Westphalia Vineyards. This vintage was dedicated to that mentorship and friendship after Terry’s passing.
