Edf-Clif Vineyards is named for its scenic view overlooking the Fourche a Renault stream in Washington County, Missouri. The stream was aptly named for a French pioneer citizen, Philip Francois Renault, who would be thrilled to know that this picturesque spot would one day be planted to exceptional vines of Chambourcin, a French-American hybrid. Here, generations of pasture have enriched the deep, silty loam soils making perfect conditions for wine grape growing. The 2021 vintage expresses deep pomegranate, black cherry, wild sage and cocoa nibs on the nose. The inviting aromas quickly deceive you with a vibrant, energetic palate finishing into chalky, long tannins and a pop of fresh red currant.
